Do you know the old sanatorium?

In the garden of the old sanatorium, where the triennial EKO 9 is still taking place until the end of the summer, ethnologist Dr Jerneja Ferlež met Andrej Požarnik, son of a cook’s assistant at the Černič’s sanatorium between 1939 and 1941. She recorded the conversation during a walk through the premises of the sanatorium, and the recording will serve as material for the study of the history of the building at 19 Tyrševa ulica in Maribor.

Are you connected with the sanatorium on Tyrševa ulica? Were you employed there? Did you visit the premises when it was a clinic for schoolchildren or a lung dispensary of the health centre? Write down your memory, send it to info@ugm.si and we will forward it to Dr Ferlež. If your connection to the sanatorium is extensive, Jerneja will invite you to come and talk to her at the EKO 9 venue.
